“They say that intuitions are the universe’s and God’s way of showing us the way and protecting us.”
– Asdfghjkl –
Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, born with the name Helena Kowalska, was a third child of ten born in Poland in 1905. Since the age of seven, she felt a calling through a voice in her soul to the religious life, which then she applied to a convent and was accepted at the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, after she had a vision of Jesus covered with wounds.
Throughout her life, Saint Faustina, known today as the “Apostle of The Divine Mercy”, she had lived a divine life faithful to God and doing His will. Through her, Jesus demanded her to spread and introduce to the world about the merciful of God, through: (1) the Image of The Divine Mercy with the inscription “Jesus, I trust in You”; (2) the Feast of the Divine Mercy on the Second Sunday of Easter (Divine Mercy Sunday); (3) The Divine Mercy Chaplet; (4) and the prayer and meditation on His Passion at the Hour of Great Mercy (3 o’clock in the afternoon).
And through this post, I’d like to share some beautiful and meaningful messages from this book about her childlike trust and simplicity towards God, her obedience and acceptance towards her sufferings and God’s will, messages she heard from her confessors, God’s will that becomes her missions, and God’s beautiful way of showing love in her everyday life.
1. What intuition is and why it truly matters in our lives
The definition of intuition.
What does intuition mean > based on several sources/words of people.
The power, role and importance of intuitions.
There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don’t look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn’t anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text.
All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.
2. Intellect vs Intuition. Mind vs Heart. Which one is more important?
“I am here. I am here.
I am life. Eternal life.”
The standard chunk of Lorem Ipsum used since the 1500s is reproduced below for those interested. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 from “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” by Cicero are also reproduced in their exact original form, accompanied by English versions from the 1914 translation by H. Rackham.
The year of 2022, was the year for me where I got to learn to learn, practice, and trust my intuitions more. It was the year where my faith, trust, and confidence towards not only myself but also the universe and God was tested. It was like I was given the opportunity, or perhaps I was being pushed to choose something, and that I was being asked and waited to choose one thing that scared me the most and yet I really felt in my heart that that was my path, and that I was eventually, meant to be there on that path and walk it.
3. My personal story of practicing intuitions
4. What it means to practice intuitions and what the journey looks like
The practice on intuitions doesn’t come only on the courage on pursuing it, or on choosing your heart more than anything, but also on practicing faith on whatever the results may be, it will always be meant for something good, even if it doesn’t seem like it, or if we don’t seem to understand it and see the purpose or light behind it. It is a practice of faith towards something bigger than us, something that is good and true and beautiful, towards God, or towards anything that you believe in – a greater and true source of light and truth. It is a practice of knowing and trusting that we are being taken care of, in His own unique ways that we won’t always understand, and a practice of surrendering ourselves completely through His voice and guidance in our hearts that always leading us and guiding us to a right path, His path.
“I am here. I am here.
I am life. Eternal life.”
(book pg. 71)
Practicing to listen to our intuitions means to courageously admitting to ourselves and the universe that we are doubtful, we are scared, we are lost, and that we need help – and therefore we decided to sit ourselves, to empty our minds and our believes and eberything within, and to be ready to receive something new – guidance. It is apractice of connecting ourselves, not only to our souls and our hearts – what they’re saying to us, what they’re whispering, but also on connecting ourselves to a greater force, to God, our Lord – of what He’s trying to tell us, where He wants to take us, and what He wants us to do; everything, if not given from an outside circumstances as clues, will certainly comes from the inside, in the forms of intuitions.
Surely, it isn’t easy at all, not only to muster up the courage to sit and listen without judgement and fear, but also to know whether the voice that exists inside us is telling us the truth or not, and whether we should trust it or not. Short answer, that is why it is a practice – a practice to cultivate wisdom, clearance, and humility. And just like other practices, this one also needs time, for sure.
We may sometimes blame ourselves for the results when we decided for the first time to trust our intuitions, simply because at that time we have no idea yet on where it’s going to take us, or what is the good on following it and making a decision based on it. But after a few times, as time goes by, grows our wisdom, our understanding, our faith, our trust, and our acceptance that comes with following our intuitions – we become aware, that following our intuitions is the best thing that we can ever do, and that intuitions are protecting us from something that aren’t for us in the first place – and therefore, comes a feeling of gratefulness. Gratefulness for being given a courage to pursue our hearts, and strength to having to trust on it for whatever the outcome would be, whatever the road would lead.
5. The benefit and importance of intuitions in our lives
After those period of practice, we will realize, how easy it is now to know which path to take, what action we should do, what response we should give, simply because we have learned to trust and become one with our intuitions. Even if we don’t understand yet, or get the clues or the answers in our hearts, we still remain hopeful, and our hearts are not as shaky as before, for now we have something to hold, something to put our faith and trust into, which is God, that will always protecting us and being here with us through the voices in our hearts – intuitions.
The moment we put our faith in it – our intuitions, and in Him, won’t there be a moment for us to put our faith somewhere else, for we have learned before that by trusting and listening to our hearts, and knowing that it works and helps us, this actions of listening to our intuitions will forever stick to us. There will be a difference, or a shift, to be precise, in our attitude, one where we will seem, and actually be more at peace with ourselves and with everything that is happening, and that comes as result of being one with ourselves, and truly connecting with our hearts and soul, and to God, and the universe. A sense of peace, safety, and relieved will emerge, as now we have something to hold on to, something that we can always head on to search for either clues, answers, directions, or reassurance.
